It is now common knowledge that rapper superstar Drake loves to gamble, but his betting ability is up for debate.
Most recently, he suffered a $300,000 loss betting on Carlos Alcaraz to beat Jannick Sinner in the US Open. It is for this loss, and many others, that the “Drake Curse” is a common theme among reports on his gambling exploits, with many blaming Drake wagers for upsets in the world of sports.
Now, it appears that the full extent of this curse has been revealed. The X page for Akademiks TV has shared what appears to be the betting numbers for Drake with his partnered Stake crypto casino. It shows that the Canadian musician supposedly loses around $35m annually through gambling:
In total, the figures suggest Drake has gambled a staggering $5bn with the crypto casino. However, despite the “Drake Curse”, he is down only $16m over his lifetime of betting with Stake.
It’s not his money dummy lol”
It is unclear exactly where Akademiks has secured this data, and the responses to the supposed revelation are mixed. Many in the comments have claimed that Drake is likely not losing his own money anyway. @SanFranAnt said: “It’s not his money dummy lol,” adding that it was probably “promo funds.”
The Financial Times reported in 2023 that Drake receives as much as $100m per year to endorse the Eddie Craven-owned Stake crypto casino. Craven also runs the streaming platform Kick, and has partnerships with many of its top streamers, including Trainwreckstv and Roshtein.
