A Pennsylvania casino will have to pay a $300,000 fine after a 13-year-old boy was able to gamble for several hours using his father’s ID. The underage player was staying at the Valley Forge Casino Resort in Montgomery County with his dad when they both went to the gaming floor.
the father initially gave his son $600 to play slot machines
The boy presented his father’s ID to a security officer who was unable to scan it. Another officer took over and handed the ID back to the father, thinking this was who originally presented it. The pair then entered the gaming floor, where the father initially gave his son $600 to play slot machines. It’s unclear if the boy won any money gambling at the property.
To make matters worse, the 13-year-old even received a beer from one of the cocktail servers, which he proceeded to give to his dad. The duo tried to enter the gaming floor again the next day before getting turned away.
The interaction sparked a review of surveillance footage, with security personnel then spotting the underage person gambling. They proceeded to notify local police, and the father admitted to a charge of aiding and abetting regarding the underage gambling.
After Valley Forge Casino completed a review, the security officers and cocktail server received written final warnings and the whole team had to undergo extra training.
