Esports franchise 100 Thieves has announced the relaunch of its Counter-Strike 2 team through a partnership with crypto casino Roobet. The gambling brand will be the naming rights sponsor under this multi-year agreement. It’s the first time the organization has fielded a Counter-Strike team since 2020, when it folded due to competitive and logistical issues at the time.
one of the most lucrative deals in the history of 100 Thieves
The press release said that it is one of the most lucrative deals in the history of 100 Thieves. A significant portion of the funds will be allocated to expanding its presence in Europe, including the development of a training facility in Serbia that will also serve as a content hub for Counter-Strike creators and streamers.
The announcement doesn’t come out of the blue, as 100 Thieves Founder Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag has his own individual partnership with Roobet. He regularly streams content of himself playing online slots and table games. A recent stream featured OpTic Scump, who took a lot of criticism for striking a deal with Roobet last week.
